We hold regular weekend birdng events, which are ideally geared for local birders and those who can only get away for birding on the weekend. These consist of courses and special birding outings which are usually focussed on particular birds at a particular time of year. Many include a course element too!
Upcoming weekend events:
- The 12th LBJ Field Course, 18-20 November 2011 at Ezemvelo. This regular course has been running now for seven years and offers participants a "hands on" learning experience at Ezemvelo Nature Reserve and some of our secret locations nearby !! . . . . . . more
- Warbler Field Course: The first of our two warbler weekends. This "course in the bush" is focused on palearctic warblers such as Olive-Tree Warbler, Icterine Warbler and Marsh Warbler

- River Warbler Weekend: These weekends are run as a course in the identification and location of warblers in South Africa, with an emphasis on the palearctic migrants which are present. It is a weekend long residential course and usually includes a lot of excellent birding with species such as Bronze-winged Courser, Great-Spotted Cuckoo and even Baillon's Crake also being on offer !
